Signature in Rabat of a Memorandum of Understanding between Industrial Property offices of member countries of the Agadir Agreement

Under the cooperation between the member countries of the Agadir Agreement signed between Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia and Jordan, industrial property offices of these countries proceeded to the signature of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on December 10th 2014, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Industry, Trade, Investment and the Digital Economy, and  in the presence of the Technical Unit President of the Agadir Agreement.

This MoU aims to foster  experience sharing and to pool means and resources deployed by these offices to enhance the level of the use and the protection of industrial property in these countries.

This ceremony was also the occasion to launch the platform “Arabpat”, available on www.arabpat.com, which constitute the first patent information dissemination service in the Arab countries, set up under the cooperation between the member countries of the Agadir Agreement and supported by the European Patent Office (EPO), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC ).
